- Missed call · 2:14 pm
- Hi mate, thanks for calling Smith Plumbing! Sorry we missed your call. How can we help? (Automated reply)
- hi its sarah in bondi, burst pipe under the sink, water everywhere. call asap
- Safety first: if it's safe to do so, turn off the water at the main tap (usually at the water meter near the front boundary). If water is near power points, appliances or the switchboard, stay clear of it. If anyone is in danger, call 000.
- Thanks Sarah, I've passed your details to the team and marked it urgent. They'll be able to review your enquiry.

The call rings out
You're under a house or behind the wheel. The caller gets a text a moment later that says who it's from and that it's an automated reply.
-
They reply in plain words
"hi its sarah in bondi, burst pipe under the sink, water everywhere. call asap" covers it. It picks up name, suburb, problem and callback time from one message and only asks for what's missing. Typos and slang like "dunny" and "arvo" are fine.

The job lands on your phone
You get one clear job summary, plus an alert straight away if it's an emergency. Every job and conversation is kept in your dashboard.

What could missed calls be worth?
Put in your own numbers. The result is hypothetical potential revenue from calls that went unanswered: it isn't a prediction, recovered revenue or profit.
Formula: missed calls per week × 52 ÷ 12 × average job value × conversion rate.
5 calls × 52 ÷ 12 × $350 × 30% = $2,275 a month
Starting values are placeholders, not industry averages. Hypothetical only: not guaranteed recoverable revenue or profit.
Burst pipe? You hear about it first.
Emergencies skip the queue. When a caller describes one, you get an urgent alert before the details are even finished, and the caller gets fixed safety wording, which a licensed plumber must approve before any real customer sees it. It's never improvised.
- Burst pipes and flooding
- Gas smells
- Sewage overflows
- Sparking, smoke or exposed wires
- Storm and roof leaks
Asks the questions your trade would ask.
Plumbing comes standard. Each trade gets its own follow-ups, asked only when they matter.

You stay in charge of the job.
It collects details. You quote, book and call back. Every outgoing text is checked against fixed rules before it's sent, and anything that breaks them is blocked.
- Never books a job or says one is booked.
- Never quotes a price. That's your call.
- Never promises a callback time.
- Always says it's automated in the first text.
- STOP means stop. Opted-out numbers get nothing more.
Straight answers.
Is it AI writing the replies?
No. Replies come from a rule-based conversation engine built for trades, and every outgoing text is checked against fixed rules before it's sent. It doesn't make things up.
Do callers know it's automated?
Yes. The first text says it's an automated reply, every time.
Will it book jobs or quote prices?
No. It never says a job is booked, never quotes a price and never promises a callback time. It collects the details; you decide what happens next.
What if someone replies STOP?
They get one confirmation and nothing more, including after any future missed calls.
